Aquário Cabinet< retour à Stockage et Rayonnages
“We have been working with BD Barcelona Design’s Art Director, Ramón Úbeda for the past two years. We have discussed ideas which have matured with the final result being this piece, inspired in an aquarium. We love creating hybrids using distinct materials, one warm and the other cold. This has become part of our language when designing. Playing with the idea of different weights, with the light aspect of glass and solid wood. The immateriality of the first and the physical presence of the second. The Cabinet is made of ash wood or stained pine, and coloured glass. The internal shelves are also made of glass to conserve the materials transparency and serving to let light pass through. It’s available in two distinct colours”.
FERNANDO AND HUMBERTO CAMPANA
The Campana brothers do not need much presenting. Fernando and Humberto founded their studio in São Paulo in 1983. They became famous on a worldwide scale with their unique pieces such as the Vermelha and Favela chairs. The Campana Studio has grown during the years, and now even explores interior design, architecture, landscaping, scenography and fashion, including other artistic collaborations. Their work incorporates the idea of transformation, reinvention and integration of artisanal and industrial production. They dignify common materials and beautify them, not only through their creative designs, but also by providing them with the Brazilian hallmark. Colours, mixtures and creative chaos. It’s the success of simple solutions. They have worked with many of the best companies around the world whilst also having their own line of limited edition products and unique pieces, which are usually carried out in association with artisan communities and local NGOs.
The Aquário Collection is their first project for BD and is completed with a dining and low table with the same finishes.
