Lluís Clotet
It’s not possible to understand Barcelona’s contemporary architecture and design scene without knowing the work of Lluís Clotet.
Lluís Clotet (Barcelona 1941) is a Spanish architect and university professor. He studied architecture at Barcelona’s Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura, from which he graduated in 1965 and subsequently taught there between 1977 and 1984. In 1964, he founded the Studio PER with architects Pep Bonet, Cristian Cirici and Oscar Tusquets. Clotet and Tusquets collaborated on multiple projects until 1983. He then went on join forces with Ignacio Paricio Ansúategui in 1989 under "Clotet.Paricio & Assoc. SL".
He is a founding partner of BD Barcelona Design, for which he has authored some of its most iconic furniture and design objects, including award winning designs; Hialina Shelving (1974), BD Campana (1979) and Hypostila Shelving (1980).
