BD is happy to announce that we have reached an agreement with the Gaudí Cathedra to authenticate and certify all our products designed by Antoni Gaudí.
From now on, these furniture pieces will be numbered and accompanied by a certificate, signed by the director of the Gaudí Cathedra, certifying that they are faithful and exact reproductions of the originals designed by Antoni Gaudí and that they are preserved in various museums in the city.
The Gaudí Cathedra is a documentation center belonging to Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Barcelona (Polytechnic University of Catalonia) dedicated to the study and conservation of the work of the architect Antoni Gaudí.
Since many decades Antoni Gaudí (1852/1926) is internationally the best known Spanish architect. His integrated conception of architecture led him to pay attention, not only to structural calculations, but also to all the decorative elements, including furniture, that would form part of the building. In 1975 BD recovered his work from history by embarking on their serial production using traditional art and craft techniques and the same materials in order to reproduce all the rich detail displayed by the originals when they were first produced.
